A Nashville native, Todd joined ESa in 1981 as a project architect after graduating with honors from the University of Tennessee. More than four decades later, he now serves as the firm’s president, bringing a wealth of experience in healthcare architecture and a deep, personal commitment to creating spaces that promote healing and humanity.

Todd’s passion for healthcare design began in his childhood and was shaped by the loss of his mother to a terminal illness. This personal connection fuels his dedication to patient-centered environments and inspires his designs to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. His career at ESa has included roles as senior designer, principal and executive vice president, during which he has led the design and management of new, renovated and expanded medical facilities across the country.

Todd is a respected leader and mentor, who remains actively involved in project design while guiding the firm’s strategic direction. He is known for cultivating strong client relationships and delivering exceptional service. He believes that great design not only exceeds expectations but also anticipates future needs and supports client success.

Todd is a charter member of the Planetree Design Advisory Council and an active contributor to the Planetree Visionary Design Network. In recognition of his contributions to healthcare, he was named a “Health Care Hero” by the Nashville Business Journal in 2014. He also serves as a board member for AIA Middle Tennessee and is active in the Nashville Healthcare Council’s Leadership Health Care initiative. Outside the office, Todd enjoys Nashville’s music scene and spending time with his family at their riverside vacation home.
