A Nashville native, Todd joined ESa as a Project Architect in 1981, after graduating from the University of Tennessee with honors. Throughout his life, Todd has enjoyed developing relationships with others through personal and professional interaction. Todd’s passion for healthcare design began at an early age, when his mother succumbed to a terminal illness. Todd’s love of people and the opportunity to make a difference in their lives inspire him in his designs, and keep him coming back to work each day.
Having served the firm as a Senior Designer, Principal and Executive Vice President for many years, Todd is now the firm’s President. He has been responsible for the design and project management of new, renovated and expanded medical facilities of almost all project types across the nation. He continues to be active in project design, and he loves the opportunity to mentor others.
Todd is most proud of creating spaces that make clients successful, and also promote healing and humanity. Todd believes excellent client service “exceeds client expectations, and possesses a keen eye for the future.” A charter member of Planetree’s Design Advisory Council, Todd remains an active participant in the Planetree Visionary Design Network. The Nashville Business Journal named Todd a “Health Care Hero” in 2014.
A Nashville Healthcare Council Leadership Health Care Member and AIA Middle Tennessee Board Member, Todd enjoys the sense of comradery he feels while working with some of the brightest minds in architecture at ESa. Outside of the office, Todd enjoys attending a variety of music events and spending time with family at their riverside vacation home.
