Originally from Toledo, OH, Tom joined ESa in 1995, after earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design from the University of Cincinnati. A member of the International Interior Design Association and EDAC Accredited Individual, Tom possesses over 20 years of professional design experience evolving preliminary design concepts from early stages through project completion.
Tom’s role at ESa can be summed up in three words: designer, mentor and friend. Interior designer by trade, his favorite part of the design process is concept rendering. Tom is proficient in the use of 3-D modeling technology, like Revit and SketchUP, and CADD drafting to enhance the client’s understanding of interior spaces. He really enjoys sharing what he has learned over the years (whether that is with co-workers, students or clients) and he most values his role as “friend” to co-workers, clients, consultants and contractors. The friendships he has “established over the years is what makes ESa such a special place to work!”
Tom enjoys creating spaces that make sense and relate to the design language established by a building’s exterior detailing. He believes that good design is not only about building a great facility, it is also about building great relationships with the people who will use it! He defines excellent client service as meeting clients’ needs and “walking through the design process along with them, so that everyone can be proud of the final design.” Being involved in changing a community and also impacting people’s lives inspires Tom in his work. When not in the office, Tom enjoys spending time with his family, volunteering with the Love Helps, Inc. Leading by Reading program and sketching. His hobbies include woodworking, playing softball and golfing.
