AdventHealth Minneola is a new community hospital in Minneola, Fla., designed to set a new standard for healthcare delivery. At 205,568 square feet, this facility was created as an 80-bed template hospital, a model that AdventHealth can replicate across different markets to accelerate speed to market and maintain cost control without compromising quality.

The design team focused on flexibility and efficiency. Using a “kit of parts” approach, the hospital can scale up or down to meet local needs while preserving AdventHealth’s brand and operational standards. Prefabrication strategies were integrated wherever practical to streamline construction and reduce waste.

One of the primary challenges was achieving a cost-effective design that still delivered a high level of functionality. The team addressed this by applying lean square footage and bed metrics, avoiding unnecessary overbuilding. The result is a templated design that adapts easily to future projects, saving time and resources.

The hospital emphasizes a human-centered approach, prioritizing patient experience and operational efficiency. Key features include a healing garden for patient and staff well-being, a combined café and gift shop, and a dedicated surgical floor with operating rooms, cath labs and procedure spaces. The design even integrates a monumental stair with the exit stair to reduce duplication and costs.

This hospital now serves as a foundation for AdventHealth’s next generation of community facilities. The design created in Minneola is already informing projects in other communities, each one customized to its site while keeping the same dependable structure. AdventHealth Minneola is a modern, adaptable hospital designed to meet today’s needs and evolve with tomorrow’s.
