Heritage Medical Associates in Mt. Juliet houses a multi-specialty clinic, and diagnostic and imaging services. A glass entry canopy welcomes patients with natural light, while also protecting them from the elements. A two-story curtain wall atrium waiting and reception area allows an abundance of natural light into the space providing views of the surrounding landscapes to enhance the patient experience.
Earth-toned stone, brick, metal and glass allow the building to blend in unobtrusively with the surrounding area; this theme is carried on throughout the interior through the materials and biophilic artwork found in the public and clinical spaces.
The clinical areas include suites for internal medicine, endocrinology, diagnostic testing services, a rheumatology/infusion center, pediatric services, ENT, allergy and dermatology.
Best practices included both Lean and evidence-based design strategies, which included the implementation of a standardized exam pod for all the practices. This allows for future flexibility of specialties that are around the central core to change. Each pod houses clinical space for two physicians which includes six exam rooms, two offices, a nurse station and physician touch-down space. The building also includes a central staff break room and a shared physician break room.
