This new 57,000 square foot Health Sciences Building is dedicated to training students for allied health professions. Located at a prominent intersection that visually connects Moravian University’s historic campus, main campus and athletic campus, this signature building houses the Nursing Department and space for students and faculty of undergraduate programs in Health Sciences.

Featured academic spaces include simulation and skills labs, classrooms (including three flexible classrooms), general chemistry lab, microbiology lab, anatomy and physiology lab, research labs, health informatics computer lab and faculty offices. Other notable spaces include a flat floor auditorium that is also utilized for collegiate gatherings, a VR cadaver lab and future computer-enhanced virtual environment (CAVE). The design also provides soft study areas for students to collaborate and socialize.

The building references the campus’ Dutch architectural influence and utilizes local stone. A key design feature, a glass atrium connects Main Street with a new campus quad, while a three-story tower prominently displaying the college’s Moravian star symbol serves as an important campus wayfinding element. A new café further enhances the streetscape along Main Street.
