Located in Downtown Nashville, this 22-story, 389-key contemporary hotel features approximately 8,000 square feet of meeting and prefunction space. The 420,000 square foot hotel also includes an amenity level on the eighth floor that features a rooftop indoor/ outdoor pool and deck, an outdoor dining terrace, a 1,500 square foot fitness center and a 300-seat dining room/lounge with impressive views of the urban cityscape.
The hotel’s glass corner design element helps define the importance of the urban corner of Korean Veterans Boulevard and 3rd Avenue. Metal accent panels on the exterior offer a pop of color and enhance visual interest. Vertical and horizontal architectural louver screens and two types of perforated metal create a pleasing composition across the six-level, 300-stall garage located above the first floor.
Due to a storm water tunnel that runs diagonally across the site, all parking was structured above grade. A challenging 15-foot grade difference across the small site was addressed by locating service areas, such as a two-bay loading dock and full-service laundry along with related utility spaces, in the lower level and the garage ramping at a higher elevation without wasting any volume. So that maximum space could be captured for hotel uses, the garage is located between the lobby and guest room floors. Various screening options were studied to conceal the visibility of the garage, maintain natural ventilation and articulate an appealing design for the podium element.
