The C. Wright Pinson Hospital Hospitality House (HHH) of Nashville strives to serve as “a home away from home” for patients undergoing medical treatment in area hospitals and their families or caregivers. Providing lodging, meals, rooms and other support services and amenities for those unable to find or afford other means, HHH is capable of hosting guests for extended or, in some cases, indefinite stays. Demolition of an existing campus building allowed for further development of the Owner’s program requirements within this four-story facility. ESa provided planning, programing and design services for 28,000 square foot of new construction and 2,400-square-foot of renovation space to increase amenities and accommodate more guests in this comforting, home-like environment.
Resembling a boutique hotel or up-scale condominium, the new C. Wright Pinson HHH of Nashville expansion reflects the surrounding urban neighborhood. The first floor houses administration spaces and day services that include a business center and access to shower and laundry facilities for caregivers traveling to and from the hospital. There is also a new conference room, library and chapel offering spaces for work, respite and reflection. The second and third floors each feature ten new resident rooms, bringing the total number of guest rooms to 30. Rooms include their own private bathrooms, internet access and two queen-sized beds—some rooms are designed as suites to accommodate larger families. Kitchen and living room spaces have also been expanded to accommodate the increased guest capacity. The new building, attached to the existing facility, features a basement-level parking garage with 11 covered spaces.
