With over 25 years of experience, Tom has somewhat of a dynamic role at ESa. Not only is he involved in the schematic design, contract document and construction contract administration phases of a project, but also he helps to educate project team members about and/or find resolution to the complicated situations that can sometimes develop over the course of a project. He was once jokingly described as a “bucket” because he is often called upon to help “bail” team members out when unforeseen circumstances occur. His expertise also includes Building Information Modeling (BIM) in the design process utilizing Revit Architecture on various projects.
Tom joined ESa in 1990, following two years of cooperative education experience at the firm. He earned his Bachelor of Architecture Professional Degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1990. Tom defines excellent client service as “providing more service than expected, and thinking ahead to anticipate needs before they are communicated.” Tom’s portfolio includes a wide range of hospitality, healthcare and corporate office projects across the country.
Tom is involved with the AIA Young Architects Forum and is a past Programs Chairperson of AIA Middle Tennessee. In his personal time, Tom enjoys playing ice hockey, bicycle riding and tinkering in his garage repairing and improving things that need improvement.
