Topping-Out Ceremony Marks Milestone for the University of Kentucky King’s Daughters Expansion
The University of Kentucky King’s Daughters expansion and renovation project in Ashland, Ky., reached a significant milestone with the topping-out ceremony. This time-honored tradition, celebrated alongside our client and the local community, marked the placement of the final steel beam, symbolizing the structural completion of the project.
Spanning 210,000 square feet, the new patient tower will enhance care delivery with state-of-the-art facilities, including expanded emergency and imaging departments. It will feature over 75 exam rooms and treatment spaces, thoughtfully designed to address specialty care needs. Key highlights include a dedicated, covered ambulance entrance with triage bays, private behavioral health patient entrances and treatment areas, and a welcoming new main entrance and lobby that connects various areas of the medical center.
This project, designed by ESa and constructed by Robins & Morton, is slated for completion in 2025. We are proud to contribute to a space that will elevate healthcare services for the Ashland community and beyond.
