This preliminary phase in the design process, commonly known as pre-design services, provides an in-depth understanding of current and projected patient volumes, medical workflows, and market analysis specific to each client.

We then look at projections of future patients the facility should plan to treat and accommodate. Service line volume projections can then inform and determine the number of Key Planning Units (KPUs) required to accommodate anticipated patient volumes given certain clinical operational parameters. Finally, space programming allows us to create a table of all spaces in a facility, both department-level and room-by-room.
