The plans for the new golf clubhouse and European spa facility pay homage to the grandeur of the original Broadmoor, the legendary Italian Mediterranean-styled lodging billed as “the permanent and perfect” hotel when it opened in 1918.
The building is designed in separate levels for each activity. Tennis is housed in the lower level; the south façade of the golf clubhouse, delineated with a series of wooden terraces, houses the dining level; and the spa, a secluded retreat with private balconies, occupies the top floor.
Matching The Broadmoor’s palette, the building features a tile roof, stucco, and white wood-framed windows. Rocky Mountain stone paired with Italian tiles that are hand-painted with Colorado state flower’s columbine motif add an indigenous flavor to the facility. Hearkening back to nature for the rejuvenating experience, the full-service spa brings in aquatic colors, sandstone, oak leaf motifs, and custom light fixtures. Spa services include hydrotherapies, body treatments, massage therapies, and aesthetic treatments; guests can also enjoy a relaxing massage with a spectacular view of the Rocky Mountains in the outdoor treatment rooms.
The Broadmoor contains a total of 16 massage rooms, six facial rooms, and 12 mineral baths and custom showers. The Fitness Center includes indoor and outdoor pools, an aerobics studio, and cardiovascular and resistance training facilities, with locker rooms featuring fireplaces.
