This new LEED® Gold facility serves as the new home to Belmont University’s largest college: The Curb College of Music Business & Entertainment. Curb College includes a new motion pictures program, which requires several highly specialized and sound sensitive spaces; a 260-seat screening theater and sound mixing stage; a recording studio; sound and insert stages for television and movie production; and multiple computer labs for post-production editing. The complex also includes a 1,000-seat dining facility that triples the existing dining hall space. The building’s classical architectural style is in keeping with the campus vernacular.

The site is being developed as part of ESa’s ongoing fulfillment of the Belmont University master plan update goals. The 400,000 square foot parking garage located under the building connects to the Baskin Center Law School, also designed by ESa. The addition of this complex completes the new academic quad, and the updated site design will transform a former service entrance into one of the university’s major pedestrian thoroughfares. Utilization of a geothermal HVAC system and installation of a partial green roof will contribute toward achievement of another of Belmont University’s architectural goals: LEED Gold certification.
