Paseo South Gulch: Second Tower High-Rise, Planned for Hotel + Condominiums

The new tower is a continuation of the Paseo South Gulch master development, centered around two historic urban buildings, which will provide an extraordinary pedestrian experience that will be a strong contribution to the city.

The existing buildings will be enriched through their incorporation into a larger vision of the project site through the creation of a district unique to Nashville. Retail activation and outdoor dining at the base of each project along with a covered paseo walkway allows for complete connectivity throughout the site.

The second tower of the Paseo South Gulch development will be 30-stories and will feature a luxury hotel and condominiums. It will include 112 condo units and 183 hotel rooms as well as ground-level retail, a fitness center, a pool bar and lounge on the fourth-floor deck and rooftop amenity deck.

To establish a cohesive context for the emerging district, the design strategically promotes a contemporary interpretation of the industrial character found in the landmark Voorhees Building and a former Antiques Mall—which lie at the base of the development. The second tower’s faceted building façade is created through alternating modules of glass and metal panel resulting in a woven textured exterior unique to Nashville’s skyline. The tower is organized around various amenity spaces that address both public and private realms. Various tones and textures of masonry are used at the first three levels of the building helping to frame the procession along the paseo adjacent to the landmark Voorhees Building.

The development not only brings new residential and commercial opportunities to the area, but also creates a dynamic retail environment placed along a central pedestrian thruway. This paseo—which inspired the development’s name—is stitched through Tower One, connecting the Antiques Mall and Tower Two. It includes a variety of storefronts, outdoor dining and landscape spaces.

The first tower, to be called Prima, is currently under construction. Prima is sixteen stories and includes 278 residential units, 234 parking spaces, 7,000 square feet of retail space and 18,000 square feet of liner office space. Construction of Prima is estimated for completion in late 2023 and completion of Tower two is estimated by 2024.
