ESa Helps Shape the Future of Care at Erlanger East
Erlanger Health System officially broke ground on a transformative, multiphase expansion at its East Campus in Chattanooga on May 27, 2026, marking a major milestone in expanding access to advanced healthcare across the region. As the architect for this significant project, ESa is proud to partner with Erlanger in delivering a forward-thinking environment designed to meet both current and future community needs.
The Erlanger East expansion reflects the rapid growth of Hamilton County’s eastern corridor and the increasing demand for high-quality, conveniently located care. The project includes a new three-story, 52,000-square-foot medical building, along with major renovations to existing facilities.
When complete, the expansion will:
- Add 22 new patient beds, with capacity for future vertical growth
- Introduce specialized services including cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, and interventional radiology labs
- Renovate the emergency department and enhance pre- and post-operative spaces
- Improve patient and family amenities, from dining to recovery areas
Construction on the expansion is expected to begin in summer 2026 and continue through fall 2028, ultimately adding more than 87,000 square feet of new and renovated space.
