As part of the Centennial Medical Center, noted Sarah Cannon Cancer Center needed more space for its patient volume and a readily visible identity introduced to create a street presence. The expansion/renovation  of this center includes a dedicated entrance across from Centennial Park that is easily recognizable within the medical center complex.

The healing environment of the redesigned lobby is now a two-story space, filled with natural light and designed to bring light into the existing space. In addition to a comfortable waiting area in the lobby, registration, pre-admission, a refreshment room and a resource center equipped with computer workstations are easily accessible from this space. With completion of this Phase II of a multi-phase project, which also added four operating rooms and pre-operative/recovery space,  the cancer center now has a full complement of oncology services. Phase I included the addition of a cyberknife procedure room.

This center is part of the Sarah Cannon Cancer Center Network, which consists of eight cancer diagnostic and treatment facilities in Tennessee and southern Kentucky.
