This acute-care replacement facility is notable on two counts.

First of all, its design is based upon HCA’s Hospital of the Future concept that includes an outpatient mall. Simplifying wayfinding, the one-and-a-half story linear main lobby stretches almost the entire length of the hospital to link to the current and future medical office buildings, ancillary departments, and inpatient bed towers. The mall also provides direct access to registration, same-day surgery, endoscopy, imaging, dining, and education.

Secondly, it is HCA’s largest new construction project with 236 beds and 398,849 square feet. Well positioned for growth, it is designed to accommodate an additional 252 beds for a future total of 488. The hospital is currently five stories and is structured for the addition of three more floors. A medical office building is attached, and the master plan allows for an additional medical office building in the future. Hospital ancillary support spaces are strategically placed on the 1st floor to allow unimpeded growth and to take advantage of such important adjacencies as emergency, lab, imaging, and surgery. Medical/surgical services include surgical specialties, medical specialties, spine and orthopedics, and cancer care.
