Rocky grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii, and joined ESa in 2004, after earning his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Hawaii and then working in New York City for three years. In his role as a health care Senior Project Manager, Rocky works with end users to create their working environments, coordinates project deadlines and manages the ESa project team and consultants.
Rocky has been involved with all phases of project design, providing master planning, schematic design, feasibility study, departmental design, project documentation and construction administration services. He loves that the field of architecture can accommodate people with entirely different talents and passions—some focused on the “art” of architecture (the form and design experience) and others focused on the “science” (the constructability of the built structure).
Rocky’s biggest passion is working with people, clients and co-workers alike. Rocky is involved in working with and hiring emerging professionals—architectural staff with ten years of experience or less. He also assists the firm with project staffing and personnel issues. He enjoys coming to work each day knowing he has the ability to positively impact people’s lives. When not at the office, Rocky enjoys wrestling with his two boys, visiting out of state family and friends and talking to others about how to change the world.
