Originally from Flatwoods, KY, Mike has over 45 years of experience in the architectural field. He joined ESa in 2002, and earned his Bachelor of Science from Eastern Kentucky University in 1975. In his role as Construction Contract Administrator, Mike’s responsibilities include serving as the primary source of communication during the construction administration phase of projects, and facilitating responses to all project issues through RFI’s, submittals, change orders, etc. This role also includes interacting with owners, contractors and the project team members to provide a level of competency and consistency throughout the construction phase of a project. Mike believes a good construction contract administrator reinforces and strengthens relationships initiated by the design team, and that the performance of the Construction Contract Administrator has a direct impact on client satisfaction and retention.
Mike also possesses a working knowledge of the applicable codes and other technical aspects of the projects with which he is involved. He is proud of the relationships and reputation he has developed with clients, code officials, contractors and peers across the United States. Mike’s diverse portfolio includes healthcare, educational, correctional institutions and heavy industrial projects. Prior to joining ESa, Mike’s varied roles have included general superintendent, superintendent, and president and vice president of construction for a construction firm in Ashland, Kentucky.
When not in the office or traveling for work, Mike enjoys riding and watching Tennessee Walking Horses, watching University of Kentucky football and basketball and playing with his grandchildren.
