In her role as Interior Designer, Leslie partners with architects and clients to design building interiors, select finishes, create construction documents, coordinate with consultants and work with contractors until a project is completed. She also serves as an intern coordinator, helping to hire, orient and train Interiors Department interns. Leslie joined ESa in 2008, after earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Interior Design from Auburn University, and has been involved in a wide-range of healthcare, educational and community projects. Knowing that she gets to “participate in making the world a better place with each project [she helps] design” inspires her. Leslie’s designs, which are primarily for healthcare projects, strive to create an environment that allows an organization to realize its mission through function, form and culture.

Leslie is passionate about giving back to her community, both personally and through various opportunities afforded by ESa. Working with local non-profits to create environments that harbor healing, learning and sustainability (like The Next Door and the Martha O’Bryan Center) have been some of her most rewarding experiences. For the past four years, she has served as a volunteer organizer and host of Gingertown—an annual holiday gingerbread city build event co-sponsored by ESa to benefit local hospitals and charities. She also continues to work with the Art to Stem program, which raises middle school girls’ awareness of opportunities for careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. This is a commitment she has maintained for the past five years.

Leslie strives to stay current with new ideas, research, technology and materials through continuing education courses, reading books & articles, taking exams, and simply listening to those around her. When not in the office, she enjoys cooking and baking, entertaining/hosting parties, “playing outside” whenever possible, spending time with friends and family, traveling to new places, trying out new restaurants and drinking a lot of coffee. Leslie loves spending time with her dog, Paddy (who is a back lab mix), and mentoring high school girls at her church.
