Charlie joined ESa in 2000, after earning his Bachelor of Architecture from Auburn University. Charlie is attracted to healthcare architecture for its challenges, and the opportunity it gives him to be a part of lasting projects that make a difference to the communities they serve. As a Project Manager, Charlie is involved in various phases of healthcare projects, from masterplanning and schematic design through assisting with construction administration. He is responsible for the production and coordination of construction documents and also works with the construction administration team to manage projects during construction, helping to address any issues that may arise.
Charlie is very experienced with the design of acute care facilities—including emergency departments, inpatient rehabilitation, radiology, surgery and critical care units—and mental health design. He believes that excellent client service is “continually executing a project or request with the highest possible quality in a reasonable amount of time.” Whether he is listening to clients throughout the design process, pursuing continuing education or furthering his knowledge of Revit, Charlie comes to work every day with the mindset to try and learn something new. When not working, Charlie enjoys traveling to new places with his family, running, encouraging his kids’ involvement in sports and supporting Alabama football.
